Terms of use

Effective 2 October 2026

The short version

  • TapGuide is free to use. Your guides belong to you.
  • Only record what you have the right to record, and check guides for private information before you share them.
  • The app is provided as it is, without guarantees.

1. Who these terms are with

These terms are an agreement between you and Kouidev (“we”, “us”), the developer of the TapGuide app and this website. By installing or using TapGuide you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. Questions: [email protected].

2. The app

TapGuide records the taps you make on your Android phone between Record and Stop and turns them into step-by-step guides with screenshots, which you can edit and export. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, under these terms and the Google Play terms of service.

Features marked “Soon” are not available yet. We may add, change or remove features at any time.

3. Your guides

You own the guides you create. They are stored on your phone, and we do not receive or have access to them. You are responsible for keeping copies of guides that matter to you; deleting the app or using “Delete all data” removes them permanently.

4. Using TapGuide responsibly

You agree that you will:

TapGuide pauses on password and PIN screens and blurs nothing by itself unless you add blur. These protections help but cannot recognise every kind of sensitive information.

5. Third-party apps and trademarks

Guides may show screens from other apps. Those apps and their trademarks belong to their owners, who do not endorse TapGuide. Android and Google Play are trademarks of Google LLC.

6. Privacy

How the app handles information is described in our privacy policy, which is part of these terms.

7. No warranty

TapGuide is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee that it will capture every tap correctly, work with every app or device, or be free of errors. Step text is generated automatically from button labels and may be wrong; review each guide before you rely on it or share it. Nothing in these terms affects warranties or rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for loss of data, or for anything you choose to record, export or share with TapGuide. Our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it. We do not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

9. Ending

You can stop using TapGuide at any time by uninstalling it. We may end your licence if you break these terms. Sections 3, 5, 7, 8 and 11 continue to apply after that.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when new features arrive. We will change the date at the top of this page, and tell you in the app about important changes before they apply. Continuing to use TapGuide after that means you accept the new terms.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the country where Kouidev is established. If you use TapGuide as a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts. Before going to court, please contact us; most problems can be solved by email.
